About
I'm an instructional designer, and love helping people learn new subjects, upgrade their skills, and solve problems through creating interactive eLearning projects.
Before this, I spent a number of years studying arts and religious studies at the graduate level, teaching various subjects, researching, and writing.
I started my transition to the field in April 2021 when I realized that I wanted to apply learning to something more concrete and also incorporate my love for design.
So soon after, I joined Devlin Peck's program in instructional design, and continue to explore new skills and opportunities in the field.
My Philosophy
Learning should be applicable.
Learning should not be about sitting through dull "info dump" sessions. Rather, projects can be designed in a way to help learners expand their thinking and acquire skills that they can apply in the real-world.
Learning should be iterative.
Learners should have an opportunity to fix mistakes and keep trying until they fully understand the topic and can apply it well.
Learning should be tailored.
Every learner's needs and skills are different, so I try to design projects that provide extra help or an extra challenge where appropriate.
Learning should be deep.
I try to make the experience truly enjoyable for and beneficial to everyone involved, both the subject-matter experts and the target audience.
